To reach those goals, we emphasize responsiveness, flexibility, and clear communication. From contract procurement to project management, we work with architects, construction managers, developers, and general contractors to deliver results that exceed expectations.
David W. Smith, Jr. – Chief Executive Officer
David has been committed to the family business for nearly 40 years. A graduate of Wesley College, he officially became a President of D.W. Masonry, Inc. in 2010. After a decade of steady growth and success within the commercial construction industry, he became the company’s Chief Executive Officer in late 2019. He excels in team building, strategic direction, project management, and quality control management. Most importantly, David prides himself on having created a rock-solid foundation for his team and a culture of collaboration that runs throughout the company.
Jen Trego – President
Jen Trego has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of construction projects, from planning, estimating, scheduling, logistics, building, and close out. She earned a B.A. in Physics from Norte Dame of Maryland University. Jen works closely with all members of our experienced team to oversee all aspects of the company’s daily operations in the Delmarva region. Additionally, she is a volunteer for ACE Mentors Eastern Shore.
William H. Lednum – Vice President
Working for the family business for over three decades, Bill has managed the workforce for some of our most detailed and labor-intensive projects. Additionally, he also oversees the the maintenance and distribution of all of our equipment and vehicles in the field.
Tammy S. Lednum – Chief Financial Officer
With over 30 years of financial management experience under her belt, Tammy has played a key-role in the long-term growth of our company. She is responsible for the finance, tax, planning/budgeting, and the administrative services functions of the business.
Lauren Muto – Executive Secretary/Accounting
A CPA with a Masters in Accounting, Lauren has over 10 years of accounting experience working with a variety of companies. Lauren currently handles the day to day bookkeeping and secretarial responsibilities for the team.
Larry J. Prettyman – Estimator
Larry joined our team in 2012 as our estimator. A graduate of Longwood University, he is approaching his 40th year in the construction industry. Larry oversees all aspects and responsibilities of the estimating department, and manages project development from beginning to end. One of his top priorities is to develop and maintain prosperous relationships with new and existing clients. Larry is also the father of 3 children and serves as the attentive grandfather to 5 grandchildren.
Brian Barnes – Vice President of Construction
Brian Barnes joined us in 2013, bringing with him a wealth of practical knowledge and technical expertise. Prior to joining our team, Brian was an owner of a masonry and general construction company specializing in commercial and residential construction. With over three decades of management and field experience, he coordinates activity and oversees all of our Maryland-based projects.
Brian Benfer – Senior Project Manager
As our Senior Project Manager, Brian oversees coordination and day-to-day activities on all of our Delaware-based projects. With over twenty-five years of field experience in construction project management in the both the residential and commercial construction industry, he brings a unique perspective to our already diverse team. The proud father of 4 children, Brian is also an active member of the Freemason’s Temple Lodge No. 9 A.F. & A.M. located in Milford, Delaware.
Jason Price – Project Manager
Bringing over 25 years of experience in marketing, management, human resources and online operations to the table, Jason has served as a project manger since joining the team in 2011. He also plays a pivotal role as an active member of Chesapeake Center, Inc.’s Board of Directors and is a proud supporter the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue.
John Alt, Jr. – Senior Foreman
Employed with us over 25 years, John brings a lifetime of masonry experience to the team. His commitment to craftsmanship and safety are undeniable, and it truly is reflected in his work. Additionally, John is an active member of the Southern Delaware Street Road Association (SDSRA).
